Flesh and Blood rarities and foils

Every printing carries one of ten rarity letters and comes in one or more of four finishes. Counted over 10,287 printings of 5,304 cards; a card printed at two rarities counts once per rarity. The same mix per set: Sets and products.

The ten rarities

The letter is printed on the card beside the collector number; our card tiles draw it as the symbol LSS uses, a circle for most, a diamond for Fabled and a triangle for Marvel. Common, Rare, Super Rare, Majestic, Legendary, Fabled and Marvel rank in that order; Basic, Token and Promo stand beside the ladder.

Common C

4,594 printings · 2,653 cards · 113 sets · since Welcome to Rathe (2019)

The bulk of every booster set and the whole of the Commoner format. Many Commons also exist in Rainbow Foil.

Majestic M

1,094 printings · 963 cards · 57 sets · since Welcome to Rathe (2019)

The chase cards of a set: heroes, weapons and the strongest actions. A Majestic is printed Standard and Rainbow Foil, some also Cold Foil.

Fabled F

23 printings · 19 cards · 20 sets · since Welcome to Rathe (2019)

The rarest letter: one or two cards a set, Cold or Rainbow Foil, printed in small numbers. Fabled cards are the pool's trophies.

Marvel V

315 printings · 315 cards · 20 sets · since Uprising (2022)

An alternate version of a card from the same set under its own rarity letter: a different art treatment, cold foil, and the collector number of the card it mirrors.

Basic B

142 printings · 102 cards · 35 sets · since Armory Deck - Gravy Bones (2025)

A letter the dataset first sees in 2025: the basic resources and staples a deck runs several copies of, shipped in the ready-made decks.

Promo P

1,529 printings · 1,240 cards · 11 sets · since Ira Welcome Deck (2019)

Printed outside boosters: event and store promos, judge cards, prize cards. The letter says where a card came from, not how strong it is.

The four finishes

The finish is not part of the collector id: one printing can exist Standard, Rainbow Foil and Cold Foil at once, and our card pages list them apart. A binder row that names no finish holds whatever the printing comes in by default.

One printing stands outside these four: LSS's Collector Centre lists the Arakni promo HER131 from The Hunted pre-release kit (December 2024) as Zero Gauge Foil, "Zero Gauge #1", a different printing technique with no foil film over the card. The dataset has no code for it yet and files that card as Rainbow Foil, so that is the chip our pages show.

No foil at all. Nearly every Common, Rare and Majestic, the Basics and the Tokens come this way; Legendary and Fabled seldom do, Marvel never.

The premium finish: a metallic cold-stamped foil on a heavier card. Marvels are all cold foil and most Fabled and many Legendary cards are; Commons and Rares get it only in special products and versions.

Pack odds

How often a rarity or a foil turns up is set per product. Legend Story Studios publishes an estimated rarity breakdown for every booster set in its Collector Centre: how many cards of each rarity the set has and how often each slot pays out, as "1 per N packs". The rates are averages over a whole print run, so a single display can miss or double up. Players buy displays, not packs, so below every rate is also read in displays of 24 packs.

Where LSS prints question marks, as it does for Fabled, no rate is published and none is made up here.
