Chain of Brutality

Chain of Brutality (Red)

If this has 6 or more power, it gets go again and "When this hits a hero, the next attack action card you play this turn has 6 base power."

Rulings

From the Compendium of Rathe release notes
  • Chain Brutality’s ability generates a continuous effect that is always checking. If Chain Brutality has a power of 6 or more, it will get go again and a triggered ability that triggers when Chain Brutality hits a hero. When that triggered effect resolves, the next attack action card you play this turn will have its base power set to 6 base power.
  • Effects that specify the “base power” of a card are applied before other effects that affect the power of a card.
  • If Chain Brutality has 5power or less when it hits, then it becomes 6power or more after you hit, Chain Brutality will still get the “when this hits a hero” triggered ability; however, it will not retroactively trigger as the ability was not active at the moment Smashing Ground hit the hero.
  • Go again is checked during the resolution step. If Chain Brutality has less than 6power and then has 6 or more power before the attack’s resolution step (i.e. after damage is dealt, but before moving into the resolution step), you will gain an action point from go again during the resolution step.
  • You don’t retroactively get an action point from go again if you’ve passed the resolution step and Chain Brutality has less than 6power, and then it has 6 or more power later in the turn (e.g. after you’ve played another attack, closed the combat chain etc.)

Keyword notes

Go again - Go again allows multiple actions to be played in a turn when usually playing an action with use up your action point, and therefore end your turn. A card with go again gives the controller of that card or activated ability 1 action point when it resolves.
  • When an action with go again resolves, its controller gains 1 action point.
  • Multiple instances of go again on the same card or activated ability do not stack. If a card or activated ability has multiple instances of go again when it resolves its controller gains 1 action point only.
  • If an action with go again does not resolve, its controller does not gain 1 action point.
  • You cannot reveal a card with no power to Belittle. The card must have a value to its power that is 3 or less. (0 is a value)
