Rulings

From the Compendium of Rathe release notes
  • When Roaring Beam resolves, you will create a Courage token. Then if there are no cards in your soul, you will return Roaring Beam to its owner’s hand, then you will charge your soul with a card of your choice from your hand.
  • When resolving Roaring Beam, there is no priority between any of the effects generated (e.g. creating a Courage token, returning the card to its owner’s hand, charging your soul.)

Keyword notes

Charge - Charge is a new keyword that exist on Light Warrior attacks. This showcases Boltyn’s eagerness to engage in battle and charge his soul in the process. As an additional cost to playing a card with charge you may put a card from your hand into your hero’s soul. This would turn on powerful effects that care about if you have charged this turn. (You may elect to not pay the additional cost of charge – however this would mean you did not charge.)
  • Charging is optional. You may play the card without charging.
  • You may only charge up to one card unless otherwise specified.
  • A card may not charge itself. (You cannot put the card you are playing, into your hero’s soul as a part of its own cost)
  • The charged card is put face up under your hero.
  • You are only considered to have charged if a card goes into your hero’s soul from a card with charge. Having a card go into your hero’s soul from another method is not the same.
