From the Compendium of Rathe release notes
- Mist Hunter’s first ability is a Contract ability that is functional while it is an attacking card on the combat chain. This ability triggers each time you complete the contract: banishing an opponent’s blue card. When each of these triggered effects resolve you will create a Silver token.
- Mist Hunter’s Contract ability is not functional while defending.
- To banish an opponent’s cards, you must be the one instructed by an effect to do the banishing. If an opponent is instructed by an effect to banish a card, it does not complete the contract because YOU are not banishing an opponent’s card.
- Banishing multiple of your opponents’ blue cards at the same time completes this contract that many times. (e.g. the contract is completed with each blue card banished).
- Mist Hunter’s second ability triggers when this hits a hero with the Mystic talent supertype. When the triggered effect resolves, you must search their deck for any number of cards named Inner Chi and you banish them. Then, the opponent must shuffle their deck. Banishing Inner Chi cards this way causes you to complete the contract and will trigger the card’s contract ability since you are the one doing the banishing.
- If you choose not to banish any cards, that opponent must still shuffle.
- When resolving Mist Hunter’s triggered effect, there is no priority between any of the effects generated (e.g. searching, banishing, shuffling).
Keyword notes
Contract
- Contract is both a label keyword and an effect keyword. As a label keyword it represents a static ability that generates a continuous effect and a triggered effect. As an effect keyword it is a continuous effect.
- When a player is contracted, they are given a set of instructions to complete. If they perform those instructions, they are considered to have completed the contract.
- Unless otherwise specified, contracts can be completed any number of times while they are active. For most cards, this means while the card is face-up in the arena on the combat chain and not defending.
