From the Compendium of Rathe release notes

Gloves of Erasure triggers when it leaves the arena (e.g. when it is destroyed, when it is banished, etc.). This is a targeted effect: you must target an aura token when you add the triggered effect to the stack. When the triggered effect resolves, you will destroy that targeted aura token.
