Conflicting Thoughts triggers when it resolves on the stack and becomes an attacking card. You will opt 1 when this triggered effect resolves.

Keyword notes

Opt X - Opt X is a keyword that allows you to look at the top X cards of your deck and put any number of them to the top or bottom of your deck in any order.

The number of cards you place on top and bottom of your deck is known to your opponent, the order of the cards are not.
