Cheating Scoundrel

Cheating Scoundrel (Red)

The next attack action card you play this turn gets +3power and "When this attacks, wager with the defending hero. The winner creates a Gold token."

The next time you would lose a wager this turn, instead you may discard a card. If you do, you win the wager.

Rulings

From the Compendium of Rathe release notes
  • Cheating Scoundrel’s first ability generates a continuous effect that applies to the next attack action card you play this turn. This continuous effect gives a +3power as well as a triggered ability that triggers when that attack action card resolves on the stack and becomes attacking. When that triggered effect resolves, you will wager with the defending hero. The winner of the wager creates a Gold token.
  • Wagers that specify the defending hero can also be set up when the attack-target is an ally. This is a rule change beginning with Compendium of Rathe. If an attack’s attack-target is an ally, the defending hero will be its controller.
  • Cheating Scoundrel’s second ability generates a replacement effect. The hero that wins a wager is determined when that wager’s triggered effect resolves during the resolution step. If you would lose a wager this turn, instead you may choose and discard a card. If you discard a card this way, you will win that wager instead.
  • If multiple wager effects were generated, this will only change the winner of one of those wagers, not all of them.

Keyword notes

Go again - Go again allows multiple actions to be played in a turn when usually playing an action with use up your action point, and therefore end your turn. A card with go again gives the controller of that card or activated ability 1 action point when it resolves.
  • When an action with go again resolves, its controller gains 1 action point.
  • Multiple instances of go again on the same card or activated ability do not stack. If a card or activated ability has multiple instances of go again when it resolves its controller gains 1 action point only.
  • If an action with go again does not resolve, its controller does not gain 1 action point.
  • You cannot reveal a card with no power to Belittle. The card must have a value to its power that is 3 or less. (0 is a value)
