Violent Gusto (Red)

Violent Gusto has an on-attack trigger when it attacks a hero (not an ally). When this trigger resolves, it generates an optional effect: you may name an aura permanent that the defending hero currently controls and choose a card with that name to return to its owner’s hand.

Violent Gusto has an on-hit trigger when it hits a hero (not an ally). When this trigger resolves, you will return to hand all aura permanents that hero currently controls with the name chosen as part of the preceding on-attack trigger. If no name was chosen, or the trigger did not occur (for example, Uzuri), then no cards will be returned to hand.

An aura permanent may only be named if it has the name property, and is a card with the Aura subtype that has been played or put into the arena as a permanent. A defending card with the Aura subtype is not a permanent, and cannot be named or returned to hand. An aura permanent that does not have the name property (for example, under the effects of Amnesia), cannot be named or returned to hand.

If the aura permanent that would be returned to hand is a token (for example, a Runechant token), then that token is cleared instead (it ceases to exist).

If an aura permanent would be returned to hand that is controlled by a player other than the card’s owner (for example, by a steal effect), it is always returned to its owner’s hand.
