Cards defending this cannot get modifiers that increase those cards’ numerical value. This effect does not apply to modifiers that decrease the value of a card.

If a card has a property and an effect is applied to it that sets its value to a value greater than its current value (e.g. Quickdodge Flexors, Phantasmal Footsteps), that card’s will still be set to that value while defending.
