This card is a hybrid card and can be included in your card-pool if your hero is a guardian or a warrior.
When Fortitude of Anvilheim’s activated ability resolves, you will choose and return any defending card with the action type that is defending a weapon attack to its owner’s hand.
You can return a defending card with the action type that is not on the current chain link and is still defending a weapon attack.
You can return a defending card with multiple different types as long as it has the action type and is defending a weapon attack (e.g. Evo cards with action equipment in its type box).
You cannot return a defending action card on any chain link that does not currently have a weapon attack represented by a weapon. For example, if a previous chain link no longer has Cintari Saber representing its attack (because it is now on the active chain link) and that previous chain link has 1 defending action card on it, you would not be able to return that defending action card to its owner’s hand because there is no longer an attack on that previous chain link.
Only an attack’s controller may play or activate Attack Reactions. You cannot use Fortitude of Anvilheim to return a card that is currently defending an opponent’s weapon attack.

Guardwell - When the combat chain closes, if this defended, put -1{d} counters on it equal to its {d}

Guardwell is an ability keyword.
If a card with Guardwell has 0 when Guardwell resolves, no counters are put on the card.
A card cannot have negative . If an effect would reduce a card to less than 0 it only reduces it to 0.
If the card with Guardwell has defended and has 0 when the combat chain closes, no counters are put on the card when the trigger resolves.
Guardwell’s effect resolves before effects that last for “the/this combat chain” end. E.g. Shred’s effect will still continue to apply to the defending card when Guardwell is resolving.
