Echoflash (Yellow)

When playing Echoflash, its first ability generates a targeted effect, requiring you to target a hero. When Echoflash resolves, you will deal 1 arcane damage to that targeted hero.

Echoflash’s second ability triggers when it is put into your graveyard from anywhere (e.g. put into the graveyard from the combat chain, discarded from your hand, destroyed from the top of the deck, put into the graveyard, when it resolves on the stack and is cleared to the graveyard). This triggered effect is a targeted effect: you must target a hero when you add this triggered effect to the stack. When this triggered effect resolves, your hero will deal 1 arcane damage to that targeted hero.

Card-based buffs/effects that apply to a card and increase its arcane damage (e.g. Crucible of Aetherweave, Metacarpus Node, Blessing of Aether) will apply only to the arcane damage event generated where the card is the source of the arcane damage event. Specifically for Echoflash, these card-based buffs/effects will increase the arcane damage event from Echoflash’s first ability; however, they will not apply to the arcane damage event generated from the triggered effect from Echoflash’s second ability because the specified source that is dealing the arcane damage is your hero and not Echoflash the card itself.

Event-based buffs/effects that apply to events of arcane damage such as Amp will apply to the arcane damage events generated from either of Echoflash’s abilities.

Cards with prevention effects that prevent damage from a source of your choice (e.g. Oasis Respite, Steadfast) would only prevent the arcane damage generated from Echoflash’s first ability if Echoflash was chosen. It would not prevent the damage generated from the triggered effect from Echoflash’s second ability because the specified source that is dealing the arcane damage is your hero and not Echoflash the card itself.
